Test of Essential Academic Skills

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is an entrance exam that measures entry-level skills in four subject areas identified as important for health science students: reading, mathematics, science, and English/language usage.  All nursing and radiography program applicants are required to take the TEAS Test. The TEAS Test is a timed, computerized exam made up of multiple-choice questions in four sections, as follows:

How do I register to take the TEAS Test at RCC?

Before exam day:

Once registered for the TEAS exam: (1) log on to and create a username and password; and (2) do a test-run to prepare for test day.  Watch this video for more instructions.

Information about the exam itself:

  • The exam costs $70.00, payable by debit or credit card on the day of your exam
  • Angelena Hall will send you and ID number approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the test
  • Your session will be proctored through remote monitoring
