Criminal Justice ImageThe Criminal Justice Technology curriculum is designed to provide knowledge of criminal justice systems and operations. Study will focus on local, state and federal law enforcement, judicial processes, corrections and security services. The criminal justice systems’ role within the society will be explored.

Emphasis is on criminal justice systems, criminology, juvenile justice, criminal and constitutional law, investigative principles, ethics and community relations. Additional study may include issues and concepts of government, counseling, communications, computers, and technology.

The NC Career and College Promise Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways are designed for accelerated high school juniors and seniors who are ready to get a head start on career and technical courses that will lead to a job credential, certificate or diploma in a technical career. The Criminal Justice Technology Pathway is designed to provide a foundational study of the criminal justice system. Topics include the components of the criminal justice system, investigative techniques, criminal law and juvenile justice.
