What is an Annotated Bibliography?

  • A bibliography is simply the list of sources (books, journals, Web sites, periodicals, etc.) that you used when researching a topic. (Bibliographies are sometimes called "References" or "Works Cited.")
  • An annotation is a summary and/or evaluation of something.

Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources that you are using to support the arguments in your paper.
