A dialysis technician is required to receive state certification. A technician may also seek out additional specialty certifications which demonstrate enhanced knowledge in an area of dialysis treatment. Some certification options include:
CHT (certified hemodialysis technician/technologist)
CCHT (certified clinical hemodialysis technician/technologist)
CHBT (certified hemodialysis bio-medical technician/technologist)
Once candidates have successfully completed an accredited and recognized nephrology or dialysis program, they are eligible to take a certification exam to demonstrate their learning.
