Find resources to prepare you for the various entrance exams administered at RCC.

Placement Testing

This guide will link you to online learning platforms, which are aimed explicitly at helping you prepare for college entrance exams. 

Note that, if you are not currently an RCC student, you will have to be on campus to access these resources.  Remote access is available only to current students, staff, and faculty. 

Public patrons can use the computers at the RCC Library.  A patron need only check-in at the Circulation Desk, print a visitor badge, and a library staff member will log him/her on to one of the library's desktops. 

Test of Essential Academic Skills

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is an entrance exam that measures entry-level skills in four subject areas identified as important for health science students: reading, mathematics, science, and English/language usage.  All nursing and radiography program applicants are required to take the TEAS Test. The TEAS Test is a timed, computerized exam made up of multiple-choice questions in four sections, as follows:

TEAS Study Tips:

  • Use PrepSTEP to prepare for the Reading, Math, and.English & Language Usage portions of the exam.
  • Complete a BIO course prior to taking the test.
  • Focus your studies on topics at which you are weakest.  Example: grammar and punctuation
  • Use the TEAS V Study Guide (available from the RCC LIbrary Circ Desk for in-library use)
