An EMT, also known as an EMT-Basic, cares for patients at the scene of an incident and while taking patients by ambulance to a hospital. An EMT has the skills to assess a patient's condition and to manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies.
Robeson Community College provides an array of classes to meet the market demand for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). In this exciting field of study, you will learn how to properly assess a patient, provide acute care in the emergency setting, identify and modify illness and injury risks, provide acute illness and slip and fall injuries care. EMS is a critical component of the nation’s healthcare system.
From initial certification to refresher courses, Robeson Community College provides continuing education for the local medical community. Our classes are in coordination with the Robeson County EMS and are taught at a variety of locations throughout Robeson County for both ALS and BLS providers.
In North Carolina, the Office of Emergency Medical Services oversees the certification of all emergency medical workers.
